HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel's Regional FEMA COVID-19 Coronavirus testing site shut down in the first couple hours. No testing is available for any new visitors.
Vehicles are being turned away.
According to former Holmdel Mayor and current Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso, she lobbied FEMA with Senator Declan O'Scanlon to open up the famed PNC Bank Arts Center (formerly Garden State Arts Center) in Holmdel as a FEMA Regional COVID-19 Virus Testing Center.
Earlier this past week, DiMaso and O'Scanlon spent time on the grounds of the PNC Bank Arts Center to meet and greet with everyone doing the work.
"We want to assure all of our residents that we are making progress and have secured FEMA and state commitment to have a top-notch, high volume testing site in Monmouth County." stated DiMaso and O'Scanlon in their press release last week.
New discussion surrounds not being tested at all if symptoms are not significant. Driving concerns are also a factor if very sick people are driving at all. Also, if healthy people are driving the very sick, community spread is a concern if the healthy driver becomes infected. Care should be taken.
As of 10AM it's closed but will open up tomorrow at 8AM. Anyone seeking a test should make sure it's open before heading to the site.
