From an informal nature walk to a high energy dance class, Monmouth County Park System has plenty to keep you and your family happy and active right in your community!  Here are the details for a beautiful fall experience:

  • 19th Century Woodworking Demonstration from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 24 at Historic Longstreet Farm, Holmdel. See how the carpenter uses 19th century woodworking and carving tools. FREE!    
  • Seashell Sunday from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, October 25 at the Bayshore Waterfront Park Activity Center, Port Monmouth. Check out our collection of mollusks, crustaceans, and cool beach finds and artifacts and discover how to collect shells without harming the environment. Bring unidentified or interesting finds to share with a Park System Naturalist.FREE!    
  • Awesome Autumn Amble from 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28 at Clayton Park, Upper Freehold (meet in the Activity Center parking lot). Explore the trails with a Park System Naturalist and discuss all manners of plant and animal phenomenon. Open to all ages; under 18 with adult. FREE! 
  • Additional Sessions Added! Critters and Jitters at various times on Thursday, October 29 at Huber Woods Park, Middletown. Enjoy a hayride through Huber Woods and a live animal presentation. A sugar pumpkin and a fun craft are included for children. Open to all ages; under 18 with adult. Pre-registration and fee required.
  • Hip Hop from 4:30-5:15 p.m. on Thursdays, October 29-December 17 at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls. Get into the groove with cool moves, quick spins and more during this class taught by Pam Rainey Rogers. Open to ages 5-7. Pre-registration and fee required.

Have you heard? Our Figurative Exhibit is opening from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, October 23 at the Gallery in the Thompson Park Creative Arts Center, Lincroft, and features work that portrays images of people in an array of mediums. The exhibit is open from 12-4 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday, October 24-November 13. Admission and parking are free.
