3 Years in Business, 3 Gifts to the Community

The A Team Celebrates Another Anniversary Serving Clients and Community

LITTLE SILVER, NJ (Nov. 23, 2020) - At a time when celebrations are muted, gatherings are limited, and the focus is squarely on the pandemic, a boutique public relations firm in New Jersey is giving back to the community it serves.

Andrea Plaza, LLC, founded three years ago by public relations professional Andrea Plaza is marking its anniversary by giving gifts to three nonprofit organizations in the greater Monmouth County area.

“The pandemic has hurt the nonprofit community, which provides critical support services to children, families, seniors and adults who are struggling,” Plaza said. “We want to help by giving back and encouraging others to join us in lifting those in need during this challenging time.”

The PR firm, dubbed the “A Team,” is making donations of $300 each to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey, the Source Foundation at Red Bank Regional High School and the Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation.

“These organizations are devoted to helping children and young people thrive. In this time of crisis and isolation, their services are especially vital to the development and support of our youth,” Plaza said.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Director of Development Marybeth Bull was thrilled with the donation from the A Team.

“It’s been a very difficult year for an organization based on human interaction to be mostly virtual. We are making it work to the best of our ability and our need is still the same as always - male volunteers to mentor the boys on the waiting list, and funds to create more Big-Little matches and to keep the Littles safe and supported through professional supervision,” said Bull whose organization pairs 1,350 children with mentors.

The Source Foundation supports the mental health and well-being of all Red Bank Regional students, while guiding them toward educational success. The Source also provides college scholarships to students in the DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Source Supervisor Suzanne Keller was grateful for the gift. “Now more than ever students are in need of our mental health and wellness programs as well as our educational and counseling services."

The Zzak Applaud Our Kids Foundation provides 100% funding for music, dance and theater instruction for youth and teens during the school year and summer. Since its inception about three years ago, the Foundation has helped nurture the creativity of over 150 youth, ages 7 to 18.

CEO Jodi Grinwald said: “I am so honored that the A Team is including the Applaud Our Kids as one of the organizations they are supporting. That $300 will fund two months for an instrumentalist and one month for a dancer. I know that those benefiting will be forever grateful.”

Plaza noted that the donations coincide with the season of giving when nonprofit organizations typically receive more than 30 percent of their annual revenue. Given the number of fundraising events that had to be cancelled, postponed, or shifted to a virtual format because of the pandemic, the need for year-end support is even greater, Plaza said.

Andrea Plaza, LLC will feature the three nonprofit organizations selected for the third anniversary gifts on its social media pages, as well as highlight the meaningful work of current nonprofit clients Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, YMCA of Greater Monmouth County and Family & Children’s Service.

“In the spirit of the season, the A Team invites the community to help deepen its impact by joining in making a donation to one of these vital organizations or by lending a hand by volunteering,” Plaza said.
