HOLMDEL, NJ - The new four way stop signs approved recently in Holmdel - after years of accidents and close calls - were not up today. A multi -vehicle accident occurred again at the intersection of South Holland, and South Telegraph Hill Rd. (Holland) and Takalusa Rd. in Holmdel at about 5:50 PM on Wednesday. Avoid area as traffic is still backed up at 6:20 PM.

What has now become a notorious intersection with multiple multi vehicle  accidents over the years has recently received attention for enhanced safety measures.

On a local Facebook site, one resident said a light is what is needed.

The occupants of the vehicles during this afternoon's accident, shown sitting at the side of the roadway, appear to be okay, although airbags were deployed in the collision.

Sometime in the near future - since the ordinance received its first reading and second reading, public hearing and vote of approval - it is expected that the installation of new signage will be complete. In the meantime, drivers needs to proceed very cautiously at the intersection of Telegraph Hill and South Holland Road.
