NEW JERSEY - During Thursday's press conference, Governor Phil Murphy had a message to New Jersey residents. "You are all doing the heavy work," said Governor Murphy "but we can't ease up on social distancing. I still think (opening) is weeks away. Stay at it - you are making a difference." He announced that 'saliva-based testing' is to begin next week after it was created by Rutgers University.
According to Rutgers, the saliva test addresses major issues. It is said to decrease exposure to healthcare professionals, it increases collection throughput in how quickly you can collect the specimens and decreases the use of PPE because the tests are easier to obtain.
