Maureen Van Zandt, actress and former ballet dancer; Jenn Hampton, curator of the Wooden Walls Project and owner and curator of Parlor Gallery; Mil Wexler, artist and founder of the Empty Bowls Project of New Jersey; Morgan Sackman, owner and manager of the House of Independents; and business leader PNC Bank for their support of the arts in the community.

The event will illuminate the wealth of artistic talent found in Monmouth County and include cocktails, delicious fare, music, drag queen and high energy performances. It will also feature silent and live auctions with must-have artist works alongside wonderful prize packages. The largest annual fundraiser for Monmouth Arts, the annual gala supports educational arts programming and services that enriches community life.

According to Teresa Staub, Monmouth Arts Executive Director, “Our unique Queens of Art Gala will give the community an opportunity to celebrate the arts in Monmouth County and honor women in our community who are leaders in the arts in Monmouth County.”

This year’s gala is chaired by Monmouth Arts Board Members, Peder Haberg, and Kristen Padovano of Rumson and Margot Goldberg of Port Monmouth. It will be emceed by popular Monmouth County personality Stephen Rubino.

Additional highlights of the event include: Alexis Michelle, best known for competing on the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, will emcee the live auction and entertain guests throughout the evening. Dazzling and imaginative ballet performances will be held by the Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater, Monmouth County’s new professional ballet company under the direction of Gabriel Chajnik. Rock performances will be performed by Rockit Academy, a local nonprofit organization comprised of young musicians ages 8 to 18.

Red Bank’s Whipped Creperie will serve an array of delicious crepe desserts imagined by owner/chef Erica Lieberman.

Three ticket levels offer various experiences at the gala, including a VIP gala experience that consists of the Royal Soirée, Gala Fundraiser, and Dancing Queens After Party. Tickets can be purchased here.


Maureen Van Zandt, Artistic Achievement Award

Maureen Van Zandt has appeared on and off-Broadway as an actor, dancer, choreographer, producer, and director. She performed in the Broadway companies of Hair, Gypsy, and Phantom of the Opera, and Off-Broadway inGolden Boy, Burn This, Etta Jenks, Simpatico, Dutchman, The Who’s Tommy, and many others, including an acclaimed performance of Ferite a Morte at the UN.

Fredi Walker-Browne, Artistic Achievement Award

Fredi Walker-Browne is a veteran of the entertainment industry, having achieved success as a Broadway performer, a theatre director, a television actress, and model/ spokesperson. Fredi is possibly best known for creating the role of JoAnne Jefferson in the smash hit musical Rent, which won several prestigious awards.

Jenn Hampton, Arts Ambassador Award

Jenn Hampton is an arts and experience curator. She is the part owner and co- director and curator of Parlor Gallery in Asbury Park, NJ, as well as the curator and creator of the Wooden Walls Public Art Project on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. Jenn was also one of the founding creatives behind the concept of the Original Asbury Lanes.

Mil Wexler, Community Service Award

Mil Wexler is a ceramic artist, painter, and arts educator. She initiated the Empty Bowls project in Monmouth County, a program of Imagine/RENDER that started as the focus of her MFA thesis. The Empty Bowls project raises funds for the JBJ Soul Kitchen and educates people around issues of poverty and hunger in the community.

Morgan Sackman, Business Leadership Award

As a licensed Real Estate Salesperson and the Coordinator of Sponsored Projects for Sackman NJ, Morgan Sackman owns and manages the black-box theater and entertainment space, House of Independents, whose mission is to promote the growth and development of the downtown’s arts community by providing Asbury Park with a versatile, creativity driven venue.

PNC Wealth Management, Community Service Award

PNC Bank is one of the largest diversified financial services institutions in the United States, organized around its customers and communities for strong relationships and local delivery of retail and business banking solutions, including wealth management and asset management. PNC has supported Monmouth Arts for more than 10 years with grants and sponsorships.


About the entertainment:

The Rockit Academy is New Jersey's leading band program for young musicians. A nonprofit organization, the Rockit Live Foundation helps to develop, nurture, and inspire young musicians to reach their full artistic potential through live music education offered at the Count Basie Center in Red Bank, NJ. The Rockit Academy's defining focus is outreach, music education, and scholarships. The Rockit Live Foundation also endeavors to build character as well as talent, instilling confidence and team skills with an emphasis on community service.

Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater inspires an appreciation for dance through artistic excellence, innovative choreography, and exhilarating live performances. Through ballet and contemporary dance, master teachers are able to inspire and educate young dancers who learn to express their talent, explore their creative spirits, and expand their artistic horizons.
