COLTS NECK, NJ: The Country Day School of Colts Neck gives back to the local community and beyond. Following a successful food drive in November that yielded 595 pounds of food to donate to Fulfill, (formerly The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties), the Country Day School gave again in December in two major ways: Families and staff donated unwrapped gifts for more than 20 families, with participation in the YMCA's Adopt a Family Program. That was followed by the Country Day School's Winterfest Celebration, held on December 5th to benefit Saint Jude Children's Hospital. The Country Day School families showed their support with nearly 200 guests at the Conover Road Firehouse Banquet Center.
Owner of The Country Day School, Lori Ellis commented, "We are so grateful to our families and staff for helping us teach our students the importance of helping those in need, through both our recent food drive and this evening's Winterfest Celebration."
The evening included dance entertainment by Colts Neck Dance and Performing Arts Academy and Miss Melissa's Aardvarks, featuring Ms. Bri and Mr. Rob. There was a special guest appearance by Santa Claus himself, while children and their families enjoyed making Christmas ornaments and decorating holiday cookies. Families also enjoyed make your own sundaes and delicious homemade cookies.
Roxanne whose daughter Alivia attends Country Day School commented, "We love Country Day School. Our daughter loves it. She's happy to go to school, and she's learning so much. They are warm, caring and inviting and they create a family atmosphere. They do so much for the kids, I mean look at this event, look at everyone enjoying time together." Families enjoyed the activities and sing along's... Another mom Jaclyn Cohen commented, "We absolutely love the school, our daughter Mariella is doing very well in Mrs. Conrade's Pre-K class, and we can't say enough great things about the school and staff."
