COLTS NECK, NJ: Colts Neck residents, please donate much-needed supplies:
All over the country municipalities and healthcare facilities are short on supplies to handle the overwhelming COVID-19 crisis. The story is no different in bucolic Colts Neck, where community always comes first.
So, when the Colts Neck Ladies Auxiliary heard about their First Aid Squad needing masks and other supplies, they did what Colts Neck does; they help their own. Twenty women got together (social distancing style, separately in their own homes), rolled up their sleeves and started sewing brightly colored masks, some with cheerful patterns. Many of the women are members of the Colts Neck Quilting Club or the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary Ellen, owner of the famous Colts Neck General Store and an officer of the Ladies Auxiliary commented, "Our First Aid Squad is in need of may items. At the top of the list are masks, paper towels, pinesol, color safe bleach detergent, and sanitizer wipes. If everyone is doing their part staying inside and you have a closet stocked full of extras- see what you can spare. First responders and those in the medical field need this stuff way more. We have a large plastic box on the front porch of the store- please drop supplies in there while practice social distancing. Maybe a note thanking them for putting their butts on the line would be a nice touch too 🤷🏼♀️ Stay safe!!!"
Mary Ellen has placed a large depository container on the front porch of her Colts Neck General Store, located on Rt. 537, Colts Neck. Mary Ellen adds, "If anyone would like to help us make masks we welcome your help." According to Mary Ellen it's easy and she has attached her directions here:
This is a great chance to support your local frontline folks and give back to those always ready to help you! You can text Mary Ellen with any questions: 732.216.8083
