Some Neighborhood Lit. students are advanced for their school age classes and curriculums and continue to advance their skills with Neighborhood Lit. Others need additional support to get to or above their grade level. Neighborhood Lit. programs are designed to ensure that every child reaches his or her full potential and develops strategies they can use throughout their academic studies.

Strong reading and writing skills are critically important in academic and social environments. Neighborhood Lit.'s teaching strategies center around activity based language arts instruction and guided practice activities that reinforce the skills and strategies emphasized in each session. We are the only learning center that uses these strategies and they are developed exclusively by Neighborhood Lit.  Instruction for all reading and writing levels is based on individual student needs and includes the following components of literacy development:
