BREAKING: Governor Murphy has announced that all public and private schools must prepare to close. This affects 1.4 million public school children. Of this, 15% require lunch assistance.
This extreme action follows 354 voluntary public school closures and statewide closures that are beginning in other states such as Ohio. Both real Facts and emotional fear surround COVID-19 and the combination is resulting in what is turning into a virtual shutdown in New Jersey and beyond.

The Department of Health WEBSITE will be regularly updated. Joining Murphy during the press conference were State Epidemiologist Christina Tan and Department of Health Commissioner Judy Persichelli.
"Long term school closures are inevitable" said Governor Murphy. He indicated it would start in a matter of days. The challenge on closures for over 600 districts in the state (with 354 closed already) includes day care and food security for the impacted families.
