Millstone, NJ: On Saturday, September 28, from 10am-2pm,  special needs children and their families are invited to the Third Annual 'Kids WishinTo Go Fishin' event to be held at Lake Julianna, located at Ponderosa Estates Farm in Millstone Township.

It is an event planned to provide a wonderful free day of nonstop joy for children and their families. A day of nature and fishing, games, and so much more, in a safe and loving environment. Doreen Riegal, Transition Coordinator for Holmdel public schools commented, "I loved working with all of the kids last year at The Kids Wishin' to go Fishin' event. Learning to fish is such a great way to teach all children that they have the ability with determination and practice, to 'reel in the big one'!"

The event is sponsored by Vito Cardinale, President of Cardinale Enterprises (and owner of Lake Julianna) and Don Marantzand Greg Kucharewski both of the Jersey Coast Anglers Association (JCAA), in conjunction with the New Jersey Shore Chapter 12 of the Vietnam Veterans of America and Laurita Winery.

The event is a catch and release with barbless hooks in a lake that is well stocked by Cardinale with a variety of fish including large mouth bass, blue gills, crappie, channel catfish, and other warm water species. There are loaner rods and reels along with free bait and rigs.

Bring your appetite because there will be hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and a whole lot more to enjoy eating. There are loads of surprises and prizes for every child.

Last year volunteer anglers from various organizations assisted children and their families with baiting, hooks, releasing hooked fish, setting up tackle... Last year, Bob Hopkins who volunteered along with club members of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 12 said,  "The smiles from the children, parents and caregivers was amazing. Everyone was having so much fun." Every child was able to catch and release at least one fish, some youngsters had the opportunity to catch their first fish and for that received a "First Fish Award" certificate.
