Below is April's article about CDSCN's Easter Bunny Event and LunchBreak Food Drive!
COLTS NECK, NJ: The day before Easter was sunny and warm. It made a perfect day for the Easter Bunny to hop on over to the Country Day School of Colts Neck (CDSCN), for a very special visit. Owner of CDSCN, Lori Ellis orchestrated an Easter Parade, with very careful attention to following proper social distancing guidelines.
Every Country Day School of Colts Neck family was invited to slowly drive their vehicle through the parking lot, where the staff of CDSCN were lined on both sides, several feet away from each other and the cars driving by.
See video clip here of how the parade worked for everyone:
The CDSCN teachers and staff were all holding special decorative message signs, some wearing bunny ears, many holding Easter flowers or displaying them in the back of their vehicles facing the parade of cars. There was a constant slow and steady parade of cars driving really excited children who were so thrilled to see their teachers waving, telling them how much they missed them, and wishing them a Happy Easter. Then the grand finale of the parade was each child having the opportunity to wave to the Easter Bunny!
Owner Lori Ellis commented, "We miss our Country Day School families so much, and we wanted to try to deliver a little normalcy for the children during this unprecedented time. I don't know who the children were more excited to see, their teachers or the Easter Bunny! We were able to bring joy to our children today in a socially responsible way and that was; mission accomplished!"
VIDEO: Parents were extremely thankful for having the opportunity to bring their children for the Easter Bunny visit, as you can view in this video:
It was an event enjoyed by all with a steady flow of cars from start to end! The Easter parade included a collection for LunchBreak of Greater Red Bank. Country Day School of Colts Neck families generously contributed non-perishable food items and essentials like diapers, which were dropped off to volunteers at LunchBreak last weekend, as seen in the photo below:
