After Delivery – Post Partum
Enjoying a relaxing view of the Navesink River, moms relish a completely private post-partum suite, complete with bathroom and a comfortable sleep chair for her support person.
A lactation specialist visits each new mom to discuss feeding options and provide breastfeeding assistance. Though recommended to have the baby stay in their room (rooming-in) for bonding purposes, moms can also choose to have their baby stay in the nursery or have a blend of rooming-in and nursery care.
Shortly after birth, baby will be seen by a board-certified pediatrician, who is in-house 24/7. There is a dedicated team of neonatologists, pediatricians and specially trained nurses if additional care is needed. Fully equipped to handle births at 32 weeks or more, this state-of-the-art, Level 2 neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) treats moderately premature babies and full-term babies who require close monitoring.
Riverview is affiliated with nearby K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center to support any advanced needs.
To make maternity stays extra special, Riverview offers on-site Concierge service with friendly team members to assist with a variety of personal errands, information requests, spa services, and local food orders.
