Visiting Physician Services is a primary care medical practice that makes house calls to older adults and homebound patients. We focus on those patients that have difficulty getting to the doctor and have multiple chronic conditions.  With Visiting Physician as your primary care doctor, both patient and caregiver can have peace of mind knowing quality medical care is just a phone call away.

What are the Benefits of House Calls?

House calls offer many benefits to patients, families and caregivers. They include:

●  Alleviates stress of getting a sick loved one to and from a doctor’s office

●  Rely less on emergency services and reduces hospital visits

●  Ensure better communication with family members/caregivers

●  Get a more accurate assessment of the patient’s living environment

●  Patients remain in the comfort of their home with more quality time

What Types of Doctors are on Staff?

When you use Visiting Physician Services, you never have to worry about the quality of doctors treating you or a loved one. All doctors are board-certified in family practice, internal medicine or gerontology.  They have extensive experience treating adult and geriatric patients. Furthermore, our staff also includes board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work closely with our physicians in providing care.

Is the Quality of Care the Same with House Call Visits?

Absolutely! Thanks to emerging technology, it’s easier than ever to bring quality care to homebound patients. For example, you can receive a physical exam, diabetic assessment, blood tests, EKGs, X-rays and wound care all in the comfort of your home. We provide complete coordination of care and manage many chronic health problems.  In addition, Telehealth visits are also available which can fill in between house calls and provide remote post-hospitalization care.

Due to COVID-19, what safety measures are being taken during an

in-home visit?

Our patients health, safety and well-being are most important to us as we continue to make house calls during this difficult time. We are following all CDC safety guidelines and protocols for providing care.  Below are the safety measures we are taking during in-home visits:

  • Clinician self-screening prior to visit
  • Patient screening prior to visit
  • Clinicians wear masks, gloves and protective equipment
  • Complete hand hygiene
  • Social distancing with family members

We are committed to ensuring our patients receive the essential medical care they need while keeping them and our clinicians safe.

Are House Calls Covered by Insurance?

Visiting Physician Services accepts traditional Medicare and Horizon Managed Care, as well as private pay and supplemental policies for the 20% not covered by Medicare. Visiting doctor services are all different, so it’s important to ask these questions upfront.
