Holmdel Mayor Greg Buontempo showed his support, standing outside the CareOne Holmdel location, with Comfort Keepers, joining in thanking healthcare workers.  Holmdel’s Finest, also arrived on the scene to show their support and thank the healthcare workers. Two Holmdel police officers drove by to wave to the  healthcare heroes.

Jim Winn commented, “Too often, the pursuit of joy is relegated to the background of people's lives as they tackle their day-to-day responsibilities. Our Comfort Keepers team witnesses the unyielding hard work, dedication and genuine care that CareOne provides on a regular basis to their residents. We’ve also witnessed those same workers transition into healthcare heroes during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Many are making ongoing personal sacrifices, often taking them away from their own families for weeks at a time. We see CareOne’s above and beyond commitment to excellent care for their residents. It was truly our pleasure to see nearly a hundred of CareOne employees enjoy the simple joy of an ice cream break today!”

Linda Sirico commented, “Today’s event brought joy to everyone who participated. You can see it in everyone’s smiling eyes, there is something about ice cream that truly does give you a break. I personally witness the constant dedication, genuine care and love that CareOne provides for every resident and today’s event was a simple token of our great appreciation for CareOne. Comfort Keepers is all about the human connection and today it was so great to reconnect with so many caring healthcare workers.”

The second stop for Peaches and Ice Cream compliments of Comfort Keepers was CareOne King James in the Atlantic Highlands. CareOne team members poured out of the building in small groups, all enjoying the refreshing break. King James Administrator Meagan Yorks commented, “We have recovered 63 COVID-19 patients here at CareOne King James during this pandemic, and we expect the remaining 7 to recover this coming week. Thankyou Comfort Keepers for bringing joy to our dedicated team here at King James, who have been working tirelessly to care for our residents who we truly love.”

The event wrapped up successfully at CareOne of Wall. As many team members lined up to enjoy their ice cream, you could hear the upbeat conversations. Administrator of CareOne Wall, Christina Caronna commented, “The last few months have been extremely difficult for our very caring team here. Fortunately we've recovered 118 patients here at CareOne Wall. Our team is extremely dedicated to every patient and work tirelessly for them. This event is so uplifting and fun for everyone. It’s a much- needed change of pace in the workday. Ice cream brings joy and Comfort Keepers is to thank for that today!”

The event that started at 11am in Holmdel at CareOne wrapped up at around 4:30pm at CareOne Wall. It was mission accomplished to spread joy on Comfort Keepers' Annual National Day of Joy!
