HOLMDEL, NJ: In November of 2017, two year-old healthy Vienna, daughter of Denise Wunderler and Michael Savino passed away suddenly in her Holmdel home, from what medical experts determined was a result of sudden unexplained death in Childhood (SUDC). Vienna's family have formed a nonprofit to raise awareness of SUDC, and raise funding for research. It's called Team Vienna 4 SUDC Awareness.
On Tuesday evening, January 29, members of the community, family and friends gathered at the pop-up-shop near the center atrium at Bell Works, to witness the official unveiling of the Vienna Collection. The leather designer handbag collection is inspired by Vienna, whose mommy Denise said, "Vienna loves fashion! We have one design inspired by Vienna in different colors and sizes, and every leather bag has a hot pink lining, Vienna's favorite color!" Vienna’s mommy, her big sister (Vienna has an older brother as well), and fashion designer Lauren Farrell collaborated to create the Vienna Collection. A project that would usually take several months if not longer to make happen, happened in about 5 weeks from idea phase to finished product.
So get over to the heart of Holmdel: Bell Works (open to the public Monday through Saturday), 101 Crawfords Corner Rd, Holmdel, NJ. There is something for everyone's appetite, so come and grab a meal at restaurants like Hummus and Pita, Bell Market, and so many more. Vienna's mom Denise Wunderler Savino commennted, "We are so thankful to everyone who supports the Vienna Collection! The Vienna bags are more than perfect. Lauren is amazing. We feel so fortunate and grateful to further memorialize our darling Vienna in this special way. Vienna loved fashion, our little fashionista would approve. 👼"
ABOUT THE VIENNA COLLECTION AND THE DESIGNER LAUREN
About the Designer Lauren, CEO and Creative Director of Lauren Farrell NY. She is a one-woman show, creating one-of-a-kind handbags for female sports fans who also have a passion for fashion. Farrell came up with the idea to start her own handbag line after realizing an issue that female sports fans often face – the stadium bag policy. She created her bag line to be size compliant, yet geared to the fashion-loving sports fans who can express their style beyond game day. A few months ago, Lauren was introduced to Denise, a Holmdel mom who lost her 2-year-old little girl Vienna to SUDC, Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. SUDC affects about 400 healthy kids aged 1 to 18 years old every year in the U.S. Lauren and Denise’s goal is not only to honor Vienna, but to raise awareness and research support for SUDC. For every Vienna handbag sold, proceeds will be donated to the family’s new emerging nonprofit.
