HOLMDEL, NJ: Thursday evening in front of a packed crowd the Holmdel boys basketball team beat Ocean, 69-62, in an incredible shore conference battle.    Junior Ryan Bradley led three Holmdel Players in double figures and had his high game of the year scoring 19 points.  Junior Alex Baker added 17 points and senior Doug Chan poured in 15 to lead Holmdel past the red hot Ocean team.

Ocean has dealt with injuries all year but was starting to hit stride after defeating Rumson in the first round.  Perhaps the biggest moments of the night was the 7 straight free throws that Senior Eric Hinds hit down the stretch to ice the game. The hornets will now face group winner and the number 5 seed Wall on Sunday at 2:30pm.  Like all quarter-final games they are played at RWJB Health Arena in Toms River.

This has been quite a run for the boys Holmdel team.  This is the second time in 2 years that they will reach the quarter-finals.  The team is coached by head coach Sean Devaney and assistants John Bird and Ron Vespa .   Before the game the team was treated to a motivational speech by resident and longtime volunteer Tim McDonnell.
