19 Year-Old Florham Park Man Charged with the Sexual Assault of Minors

FLORHAM PARK, NJ- A Florham Park Borough resident and Whippany Park High School graduate has been arrested under several charges of Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Colin Bolger, 19, is facing four complaints of sexual conduct with two minors throughout the municipalities of East Hanover, Hanover and Florham Park. These allegations began in June when a mother came forward to East Hanover Police with claims that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by Bulger when she was only 14 years old.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, “law enforcement determined that various acts of sexual penetration had allegedly been committed upon the female in both Florham Park and East Hanover between September 2015 and April 2016.”

Unfortunately, this was not Bolger’s only victim. It was later discovered during the investigation that a separate 13-year-old girl has come forward with similar allegations of sexual assault by Bolger. The allegations point to assaults in Hanover and Florham Park and fell within the same window of September 2015 to April 2016.

While still treated as allegations pending a trial, the four complaints lodged against Bolger saw him placed under arrest late in July. He is now facing eight charges of Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is currently being held in custody with bail set at $50,000 by the Honorable Catherine Enright J.S.C., with a restraining order for each victim.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office recognized the efforts of local law enforcement on the case as they went on to say in their news release that “Prosecutor Knapp would like to thank the Florham Park Police Department, specifically, Detective/Sergeant Scott Bartell, the East Hanover Police Department, specifically Detective Frank Franco, the Hanover Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit, specifically Detective/Supervisor Marshall Wang.”
