MILLBURN, NJ – The Memorial Day parade in Millburn Township is a decades old tradition. It is a time for the residents of Millburn and Short Hills to honor all those who have served in our nation’s military. It is a hallowed day of remembrance, a day to recognize those who came before us and a day of thanks to all those who wear a uniform.
Millburn’s American Legion Post 140 will again host the Memorial Day ceremonies and parade. Beginning on Thursday, May 26, members of the American Legion will honor the fallen by planting flags and placing flowers at St. Rose of Lima and St. Stephens cemeteries.
On May 30, Memorial Day, there will be a remembrance ceremony at 9:15 a.m. at St. Stephens and another at St. Rose of Lima at 10:00 a.m. The parade will be begin at 11:00 a.m. from the Short Hills train station and will continue onto Short Hills Ave. to Millburn Ave. and end at Taylor Park. The parade will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
Please be advised that those roads and streets will be closed to all traffic during the parade.
There will be a ceremony at Taylor Park and all are welcome for a complimentary luncheon of grilled hot dogs and refreshments (beer for adults) at the American Legion located at 200 Main St.
