Attempted Robbery Victim Sprayed with Mace by Assailants

On April 4, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Recinos responded to the area of Millburn/Ridgewood on a suspicious person report. Jonathan Johnson, age 29 out of Vauxhall, was located and found to have an outstanding Newark criminal warrant. Mr. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Mr. Johnson was released with a new court date.

On April 4, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Shanahan responded to a Tioga Pass residence on a burglary to vehicle report. The resident reports sometime overnight 3 vehicles in his driveway ( Audi A8, Porsche Cayenne, Jeep Grand Cherokee) were entered and $20.00 is missing. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 4, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Wichelns stopped a 1998 BMW on South Orange Ave/Winthrop for an inoperable taillight. The investigation led to the arrest of the 32 year old driver Changa Sutton out of Orange for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Sutton was issued a summons and released.

On April 5, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Shoprite on Main St on a theft report. Shoprite personnel report a dark skinned female wearing glasses, black shirt, and dark pants took 3 items valued at $66.47 from the front of the store and fled in a white colored vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 5, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2006 Subaru on South Orange Ave/Lawrence Dr for having no front plate. The investigation led to the arrest of 21 year old Lunes Bruno out of Orange for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Mr. Bruno was issued a summons and released.

On April 5, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Kostovski responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black female approximately 5’2” wearing gold colored sunglasses, grey hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and black sandals concealed 3 handbags valued at $3585.00 in her handbag and left the store without making payment. Neiman Marcus personnel followed the female who dropped the merchandise and fled in a red colored vehicle. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 6, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2005 Honda on Rt 24 West/Hobart Gap for having tinted windows. The investigation led to the arrest of 23 year old Kelsey O'Donnell out of Madison for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana). Ms. O'Donnell was issued a summons and released.

On April 6, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Hay responded to a Fairfield Drive residence on a burglary to vehicles report. The resident reports sometime overnight unknown actor/s entered her 2013 Infiniti QX5 and 2017 Audi Q7 and removed a pocketbook and $400.00 cash. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 6, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Crawn responded to Neiman Marcus on a theft report. Neiman Marcus personnel report a black male wearing a black jacket, grey sweatsuit, and white sneakers took a sweatshirt valued at $395.00 and left the store without making payment.  The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On April 8, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Tavares stopped a 2005 Chevy Malibu  on South Orange Ave/Brookside for failure to observe a red traffic signal and maintenance of lamps. The investigation led to the arrest of the 20 year old driver Stephan Buckham out of Maplewood on an outstanding East Orange traffic warrant. Mr. Buckham was issued summonses and released with a new court date.

On April 8, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Royce stopped a 2005 Ford Taurus for making an illegal left turn from Essex on to Main. The investigation led to the arrest of the 23 year old driver Christopher Wattree out of Newark for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Wattree was issued a summons and released.

On April 9, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Lanni stopped a 2010 Infiniti on JFK Pkwy near the mall when the driver was found to have a suspended license. The investigation led to the arrest of the 29 year old driver Andre Rose out of Union for 2 outstanding Irvington traffic warrants. Mr. Rose was issued a summons and released to the Irvington Police Department.

On April 10, 2017 Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to a Berkeley Road residence on an attempted robbery report. The victim reports he was walking his dog near the intersection of Berkeley/Myrtle at approximately 10:45 pm when he was approached by 2 black males. One of the males is described as approximately 5’8” stocky, wearing dark clothing, and the other male was slender with long hair. The first male asked the victim for a dollar, and after being told by the victim he didn’t have any money was sprayed in the face with mace. The actors then fled on foot. The victim declined medical treatment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
