Auditions for "9 to 5"

interACT Theatre Productions will be holding auditions for “9 to 5: The Musical” on Monday, Feb. 16 and Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 6-9 p.m. Auditions are by appointment.

Callbacks will be Sat., Feb. 21 at 11 a.m.

Nicholas Clarey directs for interACT, South Orange’s theatre of the community, which presents its plays in the blackbox Baird Theatre.

interACT is casting men and women ages 18 and up, and young men, ages 15-17. To schedule an audition, click HERE.

Performance Dates are May 1-3, 8-10-15-17.

All auditionees should prepare 32-40 bars each of one ballad and one up-tempo in the MT or belt style. A choreography/movement audition will also take place, so dress appropriately. Readings will be done by cold reading; no monologues will be seen for this audition.

“9 To 5 The Musical,” with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic.

Neiman Marcus personnel report a black male wearing a red hat, black winter coat, and tan backpack concealed 2 pairs of headphones valued at $498.00 in his backpack and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
