MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn baseball team, trailing by a run after 4 1/2 innings, erupted for 10 runs in its last two at-bats to rally for a 12-7 victory over Livingston on Monday.
Richie Schiekofer doubled in two runs in the fifth inning to give the Millers (13-2) a 4-3 lead, then crushed a three-run homer to highlight an eight-run sixth inning for Millburn. Peter Serruto also had two of Millburn's eight total hits.
Millburn will have to play the rest of the season without the pitcher who had been the ace of the staff in April. Junior right-hander Kyle Mazer suffered a third-degree ACL tear in his knee in practice on Friday. Mazer was 4-0 with a 0.47 ERA in 29 2/3 innings pitched this season.
