WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Millburn baseball team won its first of at least two showdowns with Essex County rival Seton Hall Prep on Monday, 9-3.

Catcher Peter Serruto drove in three runs with a pair of singles for Millburn (7-1), which put the Pony Pirates on their heels right away with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. The Millers added a run in the third on an RBI single by Mike Kologlu, who drove in two runs on the day and also came on in relief to pitch out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning.

Millburn employed four pitchers to quiet Seton Hall Prep: Starter Daniel Clipper allowed one run in three innings before Kyle Yih, Jordan Brochin and Kologlu took turns on the mound.

Richie Schiekofer, who scored three runs, and Peter Gula, who scored twice, each had two hits, and Ben Sinins added an RBI single for Millburn, which has won six games in a row. Seton Hall Prep is 6-2.
