UNION, NJ – Firefighters found a body inside a burning vehicle in Union Friday morning, accordng to acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan. The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating the incident.
The identity of the deceased and the cause of the fire were not yet to be determined.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, a Union Police Department patrol unit spotted a fire at approximately 4 a.m. Friday on Lousons Road near Morris Avenue, prompting fire and emergency response.
The Task Force’s investigation is continuing, and it is being assisted by the Union Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Scene Unit and Union County Arson Task Force.
