MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn boys lacrosse team took command in the second quarter and went on to an 11-6 boys lacrosse victory over Wayne Hills in the first round of the North Jersey, Group 3 state tournament on Wednesday.

Scott Shainberg scored three goals and had two assists, and Owen McCarthy also netted three goals for Millburn (14-5), which outscored Wayne Hills, 5-1, in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead.

Nolan McCarthy and Daniel Horgan each scored two goals in the victory. Zack Weinstein scored once. Wes Moshier stopped 10 shots in the victory.
