MILLBURN, NJ - Applications for subscription busing are now available for the 2015-2016 school year. They may be found on the Transportation Department webpage at http://www.millburn.org/pages/Millburn_Township_PS/Departments/Transportation or download it here.  All current school district families who are not mandated for busing have received a mailing with information and instructions on applying for subscription busing.

Students who do not qualify for mandated transportation, i.e., grades K-8 who live more than two miles from school or grades 9-12 who live more than 2.5 miles from school, can apply for subscription busing.  Past participation does not guarantee a seat so all must re-subscribe for the school year 2015/2016.  You can determine whether you qualify by checking “Street Eligibility” on the transportation website at www.millburn.org.

The fee for the 2015/2016 school year will remain consistent with last year’s amount of $580 per student and is non-refundable. There is a family cap of $1,160.

All applications must be submitted online, using the Community Pass website. Directions for online applications can also be found on the Transportation webpage.  Applications must be submitted online by the deadline of Friday, June 12, 2015, either by paying in total ($580) or by paying an initial deposit of $348 per child up to $696 per family.  The remaining payment ($232 individual child, $464 family cap) will be due on Feb. 12, 2016.   A reminder email will be sent prior to that date.

Payments may be made by credit card online, or by check after the application has been submitted online. Checks should be made payable to “Millburn Township Board of Education” and mailed within three business days of completing the online registration (a confirmation email will be sent when check is received).  Credit card payments (with a $1 convenience fee) will be accepted until June 12.  Application requests received after June 12 (with the exception of new residents) will be put on a waiting list and will not be scheduled for busing before September 14, 2015, if seats are still available on the appropriate bus.

A waiver of the $580/student charge is available for families who meet the qualifying income level threshold of $81,586.  Families interested in applying for the waiver must submit the waiver form with the subscription busing application to the Business Office, along with the acceptable income eligibility proofs listed on the form.

Bus Route information and bus passes will be mailed to families in August.
