MILLBURN, NJ - The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills, Academy Award Sponsors Towne Realty Group and New York Film Academy, and Studio Sponsor The Gonnella Team are presenting the Red Carpet Premier of the Millburn Film Fest. The Thursday, April 10th premiere will run from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Millburn High School Auditorium – red carpet opens at 6:30 p.m.  Nine phenomenal films by Millburn middle and high school students will be featured.

Catherine Scorsese graduated from Millburn High School and attended NYU film school.  Upon graduation, Catherine worked as an assistant to an executive producer at Children’s Television Workshop, creators of Sesame Street and other memorable children’s programming.  After that, Catherine began a 20 year journey in the art department for feature films, working as prop person and set decorator on “CASINO”, THE SOPRANOS”, “THE AVIATOR”, “THE DEPARTED”, “MUSIC AND LYRICS”, “SHUTTER ISLAND” and “BOARDWALK EMPIRE”, among dozens of others.  A self-described “Disney freak,” Catherine is a collector of rare Disney animation as well as classic children’s literature.  It was that passion for children’s literature that lead her to executive produce the animated Christmas special “THE ELF ON A SHELF, AN ELF’S STORY”, already on its way to becoming a Christmas classic in the tradition of “RUDOLPH” and “A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS.”
Scorsese is excited and pleased to be able to return to Millburn High School and share some of her experiences with the attendees at the Education Foundation's Millburn Film Fest.  For the first time this year attendees will also get to place online votes for their favorite film.  Fan Favorite Film will be announced at the encore performance on Wednesday, April 16, at Millburn Bow-Tie Cinema.

Red Carpet Premiere tickets and encore performance are available at There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door.  To see what’s playing, watch this trailer:
