SHORT HILLS, NJ – If you have ever wondered what the big deal was about Chinese New Year here is your opportunity to find out.

The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum with Millburn’s Chinese American Association will be hosting family oriented activities this Sunday, Feb. 7 to celebrate this worldwide tradition.

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. there will be on-going activities such as the Red Lantern Craft, Fire-Breathing Dragons, Trivia and Zodiac Memory.  Starting at 12:30 p.m.  Arboretum staff will present Deer Drive with dancing lions and traditional folk tales.  There’s even an animal show that will delight all audiences.

Saturday evening, Feb. 6, there will be a performance sponsored by the Chinese American Association at the middle school at 6 p.m. to celebrate the traditional lunar New Year.  400 people are expected to attend.
