SHORT HILLS, NJ – Mrs. Reisman’s class at CCNS joined the world today in celebrating Red Nose Day. The children were inspired to help end poverty.
Red Nose Day is the day in the U.S. annually and every two years in the UK, when people across the land can get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work. It has also expanded over the years to Finland, Germany and Iceland.
Funds raised go to the Red Nose Day Fund, which distributes the money through programs to keep children and young people safe, healthy and educated. Half of the proceeds are devoted to the U.S. and the other half will be spent in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion worldwide in the last 25 years. Celebrities across America donate, endorse and support this popular fundraising event as well as large corporations such as Starbucks, Toyota and British Airways.
