MILLBURN, NJ - Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, Short Hills will observe the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Friday, Jan. 16.  The guest speaker during Erev Shabbat Services is Shavar Jeffries, who has served as a Professor at the Center of Social Justice at Seton Hall. In 2008 Professor Jeffries served as Assistant Attorney General in New Jersey and led its Civil Rights Division.  He is currently in private practice.

Cantor Howard M. Stahl will be joined musically by the Youth Choir under the direction of Cantorial Intern Susan Lewis Friedman.  Students in the Rabbi Barry H. Greene Early Childhood Center Kindergarten class will also participate.

Members of the community are invited to attend this annual observance of Dr. King’s Birthday.
