MILLBURN, NJ – “Dressed by Lori” celebrated its first anniversary on Wednesday.  The store, located at 304 Millburn Ave., features an array of stylish women’s dresses, accessories and more.

Owner Lori Csik expressed that their first year in business has given them a real cause for celebration.

“Dressed by Lori has been so well-received by customers from the start,” Csik said.  “We have feel like we have really become part of the town.”

Csik stumbled upon the location for the shop on the day her deal for a storefron lease in Summit fell through.  She said she just went for a drive and happened to see the location where the store now resides had just been vacated.

Store manager Jen Zullo recalls the inauspicious beginnings of the store.

“We had such a fantastic opening, but within a month, the area was hit by Hurricane Sandy,” Zullo said.  “We were forced to close for two weeks, and then with all the cleanup people had to do, pretty dresses were not at the top of anyone’s mind.”

Since then, the shop has been a huge success.  Csik is grateful for all of the regular customers who return time and again with friends and family members to introduce them to the store.

“Lori and I have different tastes in clothing, although there is some overlap,” Zullo said.

Csik concurs, adding, “It brings a greater variety to what we offer. Jen brings us a little edginess.”

The store will be hosting a charity event featuring special items from the designer Shoshanna on Oct. 3.  They will be donating 10 percent of the proceeds to Dressed for Success.

Dressed by Lori is open 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and stays open until 7 pm. on Thursdays.  Visit www.dressedbylori.com.
