MILLBURN, NJ – Representatives from Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corporation's New York office presented a grant of $15,000 to the Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills to fund Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs at Millburn Middle School.

On hand to accept the donation were Amy Talbert, President of the Education Foundation; Millburn Schools Superintendent Dr. James A. Crisfield; Assistant Superintendent Dr. Christine Burton; Middle School Principal Michael Cahill; and robotics teacher Lester Greenberg.

The grant will be used to develop an eighth-grade intermediate course in robotics as part of an after school STEM club. This year, all eighth-grade students are being introduced to robotics in a new cycle class taught by Greenberg. This grant will allow the school to build upon that program and advance interested students to the next level of robotics technology.

"We are so proud to be able to support Public Education initiatives like this that develop our future leaders, thinkers and innovators," said Brenda Gary, vice-president of Marketing Operations for Dun & Bradstreet.

The grant was made as part of the company’s EdAhead® program, an innovative education savings initiative the company created to support its commitment to education in the communities it serves.

“We launched EdAhead last year with the belief that there isn’t a more pressing issue in this country than education,” said Jeff Stibel, chairman and chief executive officer of Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp.  “We are so pleased to make our first EdAhead donation to the Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills, especially since it will help drive education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.  We are proud to help establish the importance of higher education within the communities where our employees work and live.”

Crisfield said, "We are incredibly appreciative of this donation from the EdAhead initiative.  We have some exciting things going on in our district in terms of hands-on science offerings, and all it takes is to see how fired up students get about an activity like robotics to know that we're on the right track. We are grateful to the Education Foundation for helping us to secure this grant to aid in their on-going efforts to help us maintain a cutting edge in our science and technology curricula.”

Greenberg said, "On behalf of my students, we wish to thank Dun & BradstreetCredibility Corporation their generous contribution that will allow us to explore the endless possibilities of this new technology ... Bring on the competition."
