MILLBURN, NJ - The opportunity to file Board of Education election petitions closed July 30 at 4:00 pm and Millburn has 8 candidates vying for four seats on the school board. One seat is to finish out the final year of Micheal King's unexpired term while the other three seats are for the traditional three-year terms.
As Berylin Bosselman, Philip Choong and David Leibowitz depart and Oyin Owalabi completes her months filling the vacancy of King for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year, eight candidates emerged to serve on the board.
Indu Batra Bansal, Roger Chinchilla, Oyin Owalabi, Danielle Prieto, Caroline Updyke, and running as a bracket Vicki Walia and David Schlossman are running for the three-year term seats.
For the one 1-year term remaining on King's unexpired term, a single candidate filed: Corinne Haase.
Last year the Millburn Board of Education faced a four-way race last November for three seats and a special election to fill the vacancy left by the unexpected departure of King in May.
