Five Deerfield School Teams of Short Hills Win Awards at The Junior First Lego League Exhibition

SHORT HILLS, NJ - Its never too early to discover STEM. Five teams from the Deerfield Elementary School,  comprising of members from grades Kindergarten through 4th , participated in Junior First Lego League Exhibition.  Two Deerfield teams participated at the LRC Jr. FLL expo in Livingston and Three teams participated at the  Plainsboro FLL Jr. Spring Expo. Every year, FIRST®LEGO® League Jr. presents a Challenge that relates to an important real world issue. This year the teams explored the challenge topic of Waste-Wise and showcased their research which included a "Show Me" Poster and a motorized model using Lego elements.
All the teams won awards. The team United Craft Bots comprised of 3rd graders secured the "Inquiring Minds Award". The team "Wastewise Kings" won the "Best Robotics model " award. The team Diamond Crafters won the "Best Team Spirit". The 6MM team secured the "Out of the Box" award.  The Creative bulldogs Team  secured the "Best Team Spirit" award". 
All the teams will be showcasing their work at Deerfield's First Robotic Exhibition on June 2nd, Thursday from 6 - 7pm at the school.
