SHORT HILLS, NJ - Four members of Boy Scout Troop 17, sponsored by St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills, successfully completed National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) with the Boys Scouts of America. Graham Abramo, Thomas Beacham, Andrew Bisig and Daniel Gerdes attended the six-day training program course where content is delivered in a troop and outdoor setting. The emphasis lies in the immediate application of learning in a fun environment.

The Boys Scouts of America describe NYLT as "an exciting, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others."

“It was an unbelievable experience!” said Thomas Beacham, a rising Patrol Leader, who presented a recap of his NYLT experience at this past week’s Troop 17 Court of Honor.

Participation fees for the four Scouts were provided by the Millburn American Legion Post 140 and the St. Rose of Lima Knights of Columbus.
