Free Outdoor Summer Concerts and Family Movies Return to Summit

Hot Summer Nights and Screen on the Green return to Village Green this summer throughout July and August.
Family-fun movies will be shown on a 36’ x 24’ outdoor screen.

SUMMIT, NJ - Hot summer nights in the Hilltop City just got a bit hotter.

The Summit Department of Community Programs has announced its annual summer movie and concert series line-ups, with all events being held on the Village Green throughout July and August.

The "Hot Summer Nights Concert Series," presented by Investors Bank, will welcome some of the best bands of the East Coast to the stage every Tuesday night throughout July. The 2016 series will feature:

- American Bandstand Review, July 12
- Dancin’ Machine, July 19
- Total Soul, July 26
-  Brian Kirk and the Jirks, August 9

All concerts begin at 7 p.m., with the third night of the concert series serving as "Community Night," welcoming myriad local non-profits to share their missions.

Every Thursday night, the "Screen on the Green Movie Series" will host all ages to enjoy a full movie experience, complete with on-screen character performances, sponsor giveaways, and family-appropriate movies shown on a 36’ x 24’ outdoor screen. The 2016 series will feature:

- The Peanuts Movie, July 21
- Alvin and the Chipmunks Road Chip, July 28
- The Book of Life, August 4
- Kung Fu Panda 3, August 11

Family Dance Parties, hosted by Summit Soundz Entertainment, will be held before each movie night at 7:30 p.m., with each film beginning at dark.

A host of food options will be available for purchase, with select food trucks present on concert and movie nights.

Admission to all events is free, with attendees reminded to bring their own blankets and chairs. All events held are alcohol and tobacco-free events.
