NEWARK, NJ - Strawberries are in season at Greater Newark Conservancy’s Court Street Farm. This Saturday, June 7th, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m., join in a FREE celebration of everything “strawberry” on the farm located at 138 Court Street in Newark.
Explore the farm’s strawberry patches. Learn how to make strawberry tea and strawberry jam and try a sample. Crafts for the little ones include making and decorating a strawberry basket or drums and guitars out of recycled products. Everyone can join in a musical jam on the farm! There will be fresh, ripe strawberries and homemade strawberry jam available for purchase from the Conservancy’s Newark Youth Leadership Project (NYLP) Farmstand.
In the months ahead, the Conservancy will also host a Garlic-Palooza on Saturday, August 6th, plus other events, environmentally focused workshops, community greening projects, field trips and more. Involving everyone from children and families to young professionals and retired seniors, the Conservancy’s programs contribute to a greener and healthier environment in the Greater Newark area.
