Geiss Custom Builders of Short Hills Receives 2015 Award of Excellence

Cliff Geissler of Geiss Custom Builders, was once again in the winner’s circle at the Metropolitan Builders Contractors Association (METRO) of New Jersey Awards of Excellence Dinner on June 11.   About 200 individuals attended the 31st Annual affair at the Sheraton Hotel in Parsippany.  The annual event recognizes professionals associated with building, design, remodeling, promotion, and achievements in real estate.

This is the fifth win for Geiss Custom Builders, and the fourth consecutive year Mr. Geissler has won since 2102.   Mr. Geissler has received previous awards in multiple categories for his outstanding total renovation projects as well as new construction. 

Competitors in the Remodelers category included Creative Design Construction, Inc.; Fallone Group, LLC; Hoffman Design Build, Inc.; Millennium Custom Homes;  Spectrum Construction & Development; TJC/Far Hills Design Build, LLC; and TWIG Development & Renovation Co.

The 2015 Award for “Best Residential Alteration over $750,000" recognized Mr. Geissler’s  “Spec Home with Designer Details.”   The project on Forest Drive South in Short Hills paid particular attention to the preservation of the existing foundation of a 1945 custom built ranch.

The totally renovated home featured organic elements, including cedar shingles from Michigan PreStain, corbel brackets under porthole windows along the top of the sun drenched, south facing roofline, and eyebrow windows in the attic.  LED lighting, eclectic light fixtures, a vaulted and coffered ceilings, wainscoting, built-in custom cabinetry, granite countertops, hardwood flooring, cultured stone fireplace with a gas log insert, added to the casual elegance of the home, which sold this past spring.

Mr. Geissler holds the designations of Graduate Master Builder, Certified Graduate Remodeler and Certified Green Professional from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).   

Other Geiss Custom Builders accolades include the 2015 “Best of Houzz” Badge of Honor for Customer Service.  Mr. Geissler is also a contributor to the Morris Habitat for Humanity’s Restore through  donations of building materials, appliances and other usable goods as a result of renovation and his new construction projects.
