MILLBURN, NJ - With less than two weeks to go, The Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills is thrilled to announce some of the exciting auction and raffle prizes to be won and fun to be had at its eighth annual Millburn Schools Rock event, taking place on Friday, March 18 at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange. Evoking all the glamour and excitement of Atlantic City’s heyday, Millburn Schools Rock The Boardwalk will bring together favorite boardwalk treats, casino games, classic cocktails, music and dancing, and the always stellar silent auction.  Proceeds from the event benefit Millburn/Short Hills’ seven public schools via a grant system.

“Thanks to the generous support of local businesses and families, we are able to donate over $240,000 in grants to our schools annually,” states Education Foundation co-president Robin Eichler.  Lauri Palomaki, Education Foundation co-president, adds “our schools now depend on the success of Millburn Schools Rock to bring innovative and meaningful programs, equipment and technology to our students that are beyond the scope of the schools’ budget. As our largest fundraising vehicle, this event is directly responsible for funding projects such as robotics, the adventure ropes course, Studio 462, SMART Boards, visiting artists, the Wyoming greenhouse and weather station, maker spaces and much more.”

With an ambitious goal of raising even more funding for Millburn schools in 2016, the Millburn Schools Rock committee has upped the ante on entertainment with casino games, live band, DJ Unique Musique, a photo booth, boardwalk fun foods from cotton candy to fries, and 20’s style cocktails.  Drool-worthy auction prizes include a 50” smart TV, painting by famous artist Domingo Zapata, fine jewelry, luxury vacations to Vermont, Boca Raton, Rihanna platinum tickets, Justin Bieber concert plus meet and greet, WWE/Mets/Yankees tickets, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade tickets, Late Show/Late Night/Live with Kelly & Michael tickets and more!
