SHORT HILLS, NJ - Again this year, students at Hartshorn School participated in the National Geographic Bee!   The nationwide contest, sponsored by the National Geographic Society, is open to students in grades 4-8.

On Thursday, January 12, ten fourth and fifth graders with the top scores from the school’s preliminary round competed in the Hartshorn School finals.  Students responded aloud to questions about U.S. and world geography, including map-reading and landmarks.

Congratulations to fourth grader, Tanay Nandan, who correctly answered a championship round question to secure the school title.  He will now complete a qualifying test for a chance to compete in the New Jersey’s state-level competition in March.  Fifth graders, Saniya Kamat and Yoni Lanfir placed second and third respectively.
