Ice Hockey: Millburn Stays Unbeaten with 6-1 Win over West Essex

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Matt Cohen and Charles Palmer scored two goals apiece to help the Millburn ice hockey team remain undefeated with a 6-1 victory over West Essex on Monday.

Millburn (7-0-1) was clinging to a one-goal lead before erupting for four goals in the third period. Palmer got the third-period splurge going with a goal early in the final frame, followed by Cohen's second goal of the game just 21 seconds later.

Cohen then provided the assist on a goal by Ryan Potechin with 7:14 left in the third period for a 5-1 lead. Palmer finished the scoring with his second goal of the game late in the contest.

Cohen's breakaway goal less than two minutes into the game gave the Millers a 1-0 lead, but West Essex (3-4) answered with just seven seconds left in the opening period when Pat Coyle scored on a power play to tie the game, 1-1. Spencer Brown's goal just 36 seconds into the second period with an assist by Palmer gave Millburn a 2-1 lead.
