Long-term Millburn/Short Hills Resident to Deliver Keynote Address at New York City Career Workshop


MILLBURN, NJ – Long-time Millburn and Short Hills resident, Matt Sweetwood, M.A., will be giving the keynote address at Connect•Work•Thrive™ LLC’s ( Return-to-Work/Career Transformation Summit on March 31st in New York City.

Sweetwood’s presentation, entitled “Leverage Social Networks: From Voodoo to Guru,” will focus specifically on teaching attendees how to use social media to grow their personal brand. Whether audience members are social media experts or have never used social media before, they will learn how popular platforms work and tricks to grow both following and engagement.

In his interactive talk, Sweetwood will provide tips to attendees on how to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to look like an expert and walk into their next job interview with a large social media following, a powerful personal brand, and the confidence they need to get hired.

Discussing the importance of social media when job seeking, Sweetwood says, “Just a few years ago you didn’t need to have any social media presence to get hired. Today, having a meaningful and positive personal social brand is a requirement.”

The upcoming event, which is being sponsored by Microsoft, includes 12 interactive workshops, two keynotes, including Sweetwood’s, the opportunity to have professional headshots taken, lunch, individual coaching sessions, and the chance to network with like-minded professionals.

Until August of 2015, Matt served as President of Unique Photo®, New Jersey’s premiere Camera Store. Over the past two decades, Sweetwood has become the nation’s leading advocate for single dads everywhere. In 1996, Sweetwood was awarded full custody of his five children, ages 18 months to eight years old. Since then, he raised his children on his own, gaining expertise in a range of single parenting and custody issues including dating while caring for children and the legal, social, academic, and institutional prejudices against men who are single parents. Today, Sweetwood’s children, each graduates of Millburn High School, are grown, and he is currently writing his first book, a memoir.
