MILLBURN, NJ – Long-time Millburn and Short Hills resident, Matt Sweetwood, M.A., will be giving the keynote address at Connect•Work•Thrive™ LLC’s (www.connectworkthrive.com) Return-to-Work/Career Transformation Summit on March 31st in New York City.

Sweetwood’s presentation, entitled “Leverage Social Networks: From Voodoo to Guru,” will focus specifically on teaching attendees how to use social media to grow their personal brand. Whether audience members are social media experts or have never used social media before, they will learn how popular platforms work and tricks to grow both following and engagement.

In his interactive talk, Sweetwood will provide tips to attendees on how to use Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to look like an expert and walk into their next job interview with a large social media following, a powerful personal brand, and the confidence they need to get hired.

Discussing the importance of social media when job seeking, Sweetwood says, “Just a few years ago you didn’t need to have any social media presence to get hired. Today, having a meaningful and positive personal social brand is a requirement.”

The upcoming event, which is being sponsored by Microsoft, includes 12 interactive workshops, two keynotes, including Sweetwood’s, the opportunity to have professional headshots taken, lunch, individual coaching sessions, and the chance to network with like-minded professionals.

Sweetwood, who is well known for his innovative and transformative ideas as a marketing, social media, and business development consultant and frequently sought after for his expertise and advice, is ranked in the top one percent of all social media interactors, is the 11th most followed Chief Marketing Officer on Twitter, and is a regular contributor to Fox News, The Good Men Project, The Huffington Post, and Entrepreneur.

Until August of 2015, Matt served as President of Unique Photo®, New Jersey’s premiere Camera Store. An industry leader, Sweetwood has been credited with the reinvention of the modern camera store, as well as the country’s largest in-store education program, the Unique University®. Unique Photo was named “2013 Dealer of the Year” by Digital Imaging Reporter magazine, and Sweetwood was named the Photo Industry’s, “2016 Person of the Year” by the PMDA.

Over the past two decades, Sweetwood has become the nation’s leading advocate for single dads everywhere. In 1996, Sweetwood was awarded full custody of his five children, ages 18 months to eight years old. Since then, he raised his children on his own, gaining expertise in a range of single parenting and custody issues including dating while caring for children and the legal, social, academic, and institutional prejudices against men who are single parents. Today, Sweetwood’s children, each graduates of Millburn High School, are grown, and he is currently writing his first book, a memoir.

Sweetwood resided in both Millburn and Short Hills for two decades before leaving the township in 2013. He continues to maintain strong ties with the community through friends and family.

Connect•Work•Thrive is a full-day, return-to-work, career transformation summit. Conference agenda includes tactical and practical speakers on varied topics as well as hands-on workshops to help individuals implement successful career change and workforce re-entry strategies.
