MILLBURN, NJ - On or about August 14 work will begin to repave Main Street, from Millburn Avenue to the Springfield border. The Township has hired Fischer Contracting to perform the milling and paving work. In order to safely complete the work, Main Street will be closed from the intersection of Essex Street in Millburn to the intersection of Route 124 (Springfield Avenue) in Springfield. Local roads that intersect Main Street between the project limits will also be closed, however resident access will be maintained up to Main Street. All through traffic will be detoured. Road closures will begin at 8:00 PM, and hours of work will be 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM. At the end of each workday, all roadways will be reopened to traffic. This project is expected to be completed within seven (7) working days. Weekend work is not anticipated.

The following roads will be closed:

  • Main Street (Millburn Avenue to Route 124)
  • Taylor Street (Spring Street to Main Street)
  • Church Street (Spring Street to Main Street)
  • Rector Street (Spring Street to Main Street)
  • Spring Street (Willow Street to Main Street)
  • Meeker Place (Willow Street to Main Street)
  • Ocean Street
  • Mechanic Street
  • Bleeker Street
  • East Willow Street

All work is weather dependent. Work is scheduled to take place at night to minimize impacts to traffic. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time.
