The Masterwork Chorus holds fall 2015 auditions on Wednesday evenings, September 16th and 23rd, at the Chatham United Methodist Church, 460 Main Street, Chatham, NJ.  Auditions can be scheduled by contacting Membership Chair, Don MacGowan, at 973-479-4020 or at membership@masterwork.org.

Singers are expected to sing on pitch, demonstrate accurate rhythm, and exhibit good sight-singing ability.  Accordingly, those auditioning will be asked to vocalize, carry out pitch- and rhythm-matching exercises, sight read in a four-part piece and, optionally, sing a prepared selection.  Previous choral experience is highly desirable.

Rehearsals occur at the church on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.   Prospective singers are encouraged to attend on September 9th to acquaint themselves with Masterwork’s singers and style.

The 2015-2016 season promises to be an exciting one as Masterwork celebrates its 60th anniversary, and welcomes new music director, Chris Shepard.  The chorus performs Handel’s Messiah, at Carnegie Hall on December 23rd and on December 19th at Ridge PAC in Basking Ridge, NJ. Spring 2016 performances include “Forest and Vale” on February 20th at Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit, NJ and Haydn’s Creation on May 21st at the Dorothy Young Center at Drew University in Madison, NJ.  Visit www.masterwork.org for more information.
