MILLBURN, NJ -Millburn Township was notified today that Essex County will be milling and paving Millburn Avenue, from Parkview Terrace to Cypress Street, beginning this evening, October 2nd. Work will be performed on areas that were not addressed by New Jersey American Water earlier this summer. Essex County has contracted with Smith Sondy to conduct the work. Milling will take place at night on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Iron work will be conducted during the day on the storm drains and sewers, resulting in temporary closures. Paving will take place on Wednesday and Thursday night from 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Soft closures will begin at 8:00 PM, and detours will be in place. We appreciate your patience during this time. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions.

NUTLEY, NJ - Officers from the Nutley Police Department responded to a 911 call on Sunday at 5 a.m. from a woman who was locked in the Burger King restaurant off Franklin Ave.
The woman fell asleep in the ladies room sometime prior to closing and woke up only to find all of the employees gone and the doors locked.
Nutley police responded and entered the building to allow her to leave.

MILLBURN, NJ - At approximately 4:40 pm Friday afternoon on the westbound side of South Orange Avenue in the S curves west of the new footbridge there was an accident involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle.
The motor, motorcyclist and car involved were cleared by 5:30 pm. Debris and clothing littered the ground.
