MILLBURN, NJ – Board of Education Vice-President Emily Jaffe announced the retirement of business administrator Steve Di Geronimo at Monday’s BOE meeting. Di Geronimo leaves Millburn Township schools after six years of service to the community and more than 40 years in public education.
Di Geronimo began his career as a physical education teacher in Montclair, where he was raised. After more than two decades educating young minds from elementary to high school students, he decided to tackle the challenges of education management. After an additional 17 years as an administrator and working at various school districts in New Jersey, Di Geronimo will retire from Millburn.
“Of course I’m going to miss it," said Di Geronimo. “I’ve been in education my entire career.”
Although saddened by the news, the public and BOE members wished Di Geronimo all the best and gave him a resounding round of applause. He will continue with his duties until the end of the school year and officially retire in August. He will certainly be missed.
