MADISON, NJ - The Madison football team defeated Millburn, 28-6, on Thanksgiving Day to keep its undefeated season alive and go to 11-0. Madison extended its lead in the overall series to 51-28-5.
In a low-scoring first quarter, Madison scored the first points of the game with a 29-yard touchdown catch by Stephen Esposito from Mike Kearney.
After a scoreless third quarter, Kearney would go on to find the end zone with a 10-yard rush. He would end the game being responsible for all four touchdowns, three rushing and one on the ground. P.J Mulcahy rushed for a game high 172 yards for the Dodgers.
Millburn got on the board with 10:19 left in the game when Peter Serruto threw a 22-yard pass to Ben Pampush. Madison would go on to tack on a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
The Dodgers will play Lenape Valley in the NJSIAA State Sectional Final on Friday, Dec. 2. They will try to win their 20th straight game dating back to last season.
