MILLBURN, NJ - Senior Day for the Millburn Girls' Soccer team could not have gone much better.

Coming down into the home stretch of their season, the girls picked up a key 2-1 win over Verona to put them in good standing heading into the last few games.

Chloe Zegas and Carly Bernstein both scored for Millburn. Zegas in particular has been an offensive spark plug for the Millers from the jump this year.

Speaking after the game, Millburn Coach Chris Hogan said that the win was key for his girls, as it put them in a prime position to leapfrog several teams in the state bracket.

"Today was awesome," Hogan said. "Everyone had a huge part in today's win. First half, they were fighting against the wind too...and then to get our two goals in the second half, which was fantastic. This is gonna help us big time for the states, help us jump a couple spots, so we can get a home-field [game.]"

The next game for the Millers will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Science Park High School.
