Millburn High School A Cappella Group to Perform at Winter Concert in Maplewood

MILLBURN, NJ - The Millburn High School a Capella group will perform as part of the "Home for the Holidays" Winter Concert hosted by The Maplewood Glee Club on Saturday, December 3 at 8:00 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Soulfege will join the MIT Alumni a Capella group THE BACKLOGS in a program featuring 60’s, Broadway and Popular selections plus several Holiday numbers. Refreshments to be served immediately following the concert. 

Soulfege is Millburn High School’s student-led a cappella group started in 2008. The group performs throughout the township and greater community, along with holding various fundraisers and events over the course of the academic year. Soulfege has competed in the ICHSA for two years, and took home the award for Outstanding Arrangement in 2015. Along with music, Soulfege also takes pride in its activism. Soulfege believes that everyone should have access to music, and in turn has raised over $2000 to donate to Tunes to Teens– a charity that donates music supplies to underprivileged schools. To further support music appreciation, the group teaches a cappella classes to students at a local elementary school. 

The Maplewood Glee Club, in its 70th year, is an all-male singing group established in 1946, is  an organization dedicated to music through its semi-annual concerts as well as its scholarship program. Many talented young artists have been acknowledged through its scholarship competition and encouraged in continuing their music studies.  

Tickets can be purchased at the door or at  $20 Adult, $15 Senior/Student

Neiman Marcus personnel report a black male wearing a red hat, black winter coat, and tan backpack concealed 2 pairs of headphones valued at $498.00 in his backpack and left the store without making payment. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
