MILLBURN, NJ - The students in the Advanced Studio Arts program at Millburn High School are actively preparing for their annual art exhibit to be held on May 30 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Millburn High School. This year’s show will feature the work of thirty-nine students from the AP Studio Art II course and the Art Consortium course.

The AP Studio Art II students submitted their finalized portfolios to College Board on May 11. Each portfolio was developed over the course of two years and consists of twenty-four images. The goal of the portfolio development is to create a body of work that expresses each student’s technical drawing skills, originality and the emergence of a personal voice. Each portfolio will be represented at the art show. The Art Consortium students have just completed their third year in the Advanced Studio Arts program and will display new works that were created after the completion of their AP Art portfolio last year.

The annual art show is the culminating experience for the students in the Advanced Studio Art Program and each display reflects the personal focus and personality of the individual student artist. The public is encouraged to attend the exhibit to admire the students’ work and to gain an insight into the learning that takes place in the Advanced Studio Arts program.

Any questions regarding the exhibit or the Advanced Studio Arts program may be sent to Kathleen Harte Gilsenan, Millburn High School AP Art Instructor at Kathleen.hartegilsenan@millburn.org.
